Sierra Pacific Industries enthusiastically supports the Partners in Education program. By strengthening the connection between employers and the educational force, students gain the skills they need to be successful in the workforce.

Through Partners in Education, SPI employees visit classrooms and talk about employability issues with students. Mill tours and woods tours help students understand where wood products come from. SPI also participates in PIE's summer internship program, which allows teachers to work in local businesses for two weeks during the summer. The teachers gain a better understanding of the workplace skills students need to learn. Visit Anderson High School, one of our partners in education.

• Provide construction materials for El Dorado High School’s Spring Musical

• Support for Newspapers in Education in Shasta and Humboldt Counties to help provide teachers with educational tools and newspapers to enhance literacy skills in schools

• Support for Skagit Fisheries Enhancement Group to implement the Junior Stream Stewards program for local students to teach them about watershed ecology

• Support for California Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom

• Support for Rebuilding Together in Grays Harbor to help revitalize homes for low income families and elderly

• Support for Redding’s Recreation Department for Spooky Lagoon, a drug free Halloween event for youth

• Support for the Foundation for Private Enterprise to provide Aberdeen High School students the opportunity to participate in a workforce preparation program
